Immerse yourself in the wine culture of the Zürichsee region.
How does a wine with character come about? During a walk through the museum and the variety garden, you''ll learn more about the winemaker''s work and the importance of wine at Zürichsee.
Following the tour, we will continue the story of viticulture at Zürichsee together with a tasting based on the wines chosen. You decide how many wines your group wants to taste.
We usually start with our rare, our historic Räuschling. Discover how the wine at Zürichsee tasted 100 years ago -- you will not forget this sensuous, acidity-rich experience. Today''s Zürichsee wines that follow will again satisfy and delight your palate.
Tastings - Aperitif
During a guided wine tasting or an aperitif, we will continue the history of viticulture at Zürichsee based on the wines selected after the tour.
You decide how wide your tasting journey around Zürichsee should be. Perhaps you focus on one wine (Aperitif), or compare two to three wines (small tasting), or four to six wines (large tasting). The large tasting includes a slice of bread per person in the price.
Wine
You can choose from 36 different wines from 18 winemakers around Zürichsee. You select the wines on site and our guides will be happy to advise you. Maybe you''d like to undertake a wine journey through three centuries -- starting with a Räuschling, the indigenous Zürichsee grape variety, followed by a 20th-century wine, such as Müller-Thurgau, and ending with a disease-resistant grape variety, bringing you again into the 21st century.
Cheese Aperitif Boards
We source our cheese aperitif boards from «Preisig Käses & Wein» in Richterswil. The lovingly assembled plates featuring various spicy cheese specialties, all clearly labeled, garnished with meats, olives, and fruits, are well known well beyond Richterswil. Upon request, the plates can also be without meat, and fresh bread is always included.
Vegetarians can opt for the vegetable dip plate with the Preisig house sauce or with hummus as a vegan option.
A visit to the Au Peninsula is an experience for all the senses.

Wir waren mit einer Gruppe von ca. 15-20 Personen dort. Wir hatten eine super interessante Führung durch einen erfahrenen Führer. Konnte viel von der Geschichte des Weinanbaus und der reell erlebten örtlichen Geschichte erzählen. Die danach durchgeführete Degustation war ebenfalls super. Kein dummes Pseudoweingeschwafel sondern schlicht und interessant. Die "Häpchen" danach (Käse, Wurst,...) waren sehr reichhaltig. Von dort gingen wir noch in ein Restaurant. Leider waren alle schon satt.
Spannende Gruppenführung an einem sonnigen September-Mittwochmorgen. Nach einem gemütlichen Start mit Kaffee und Gipfeli. Die Entwicklung des Rebbaus und um den Zürichsee wurde lebhaft erzählt. Hinter dem Museum konnten wir einen Einblick in den Sortengarten erhalten, mit 250 Rebsorten, saisonalbedingt waren die verschiedenen Beerengeschmäcker der Sorten sogar im Gaumen erlebbar...
Äusserst interessante, abwechslungsreiche und kurzweilige Führung, vieles aus der Geschichte des Weins gelernt! Auch die Degustation war spannend und mit guten Tropfen unterlegt.
Museum nur Sonntags geöffnet, wenn nicht mit Gruppe und Vorbestellung. Ging uns mehr um das Panorama an diesem Prachtstag im März.
Das Weinbaumuseum kann interessant sein für Menschen, die wissen wollen, wie genau dort Wein hergestellt wurde oder wird. Die zu kaufenden Weinflaschen sind völlig überteuert für Wein aus dieser Gegend und es gibt ehrlich gesagt bessere Weine aus der Schweiz. Hingegen sind die Reben sehr interessant, einerseits, welche Rebsorten und andererseits, wie sie geschnitten und hochgezogen werden. Zudem fand ich interessant, welche Rebsorten bereits weiter sind als Andere etc. Im unteren Teil sind die Wege horizontal, im oberen Teil vertikal und maschinentauglich. Schade ist etwas, dass die Fussgängerwege nicht mehr in die Weinreben integriert sind. Trotzdem, als Spaziergang empfehlenswert, als Besichtigung des Weinbaumuseums meines Erachtens etwas weniger.
